MEET ANDREA.
CINCINNATI, OH
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrea Thomas grew up Catholic with a deep love of music and an entrepreneurial spirit. Her studies began in Vocal Performance at Belmont University in Nashville. Providentially, during her freshman year she auditioned for the VeggieTales Live stage production, and earned a lead part that took her on a 100-show tour over 50 United States and Canadian cities. In 2012, Andrea recorded with country singer Collin Raye on his popular hymns record His Love Remains, touring with him around the country while releasing her own music and also working as an independent contractor for special events. In 2016, after moving to New Orleans, Andrea Thomas co-founded The Vigil Project and released one of the first-ever live-video and audio recorded albums in the Catholic music space, The Vigil Project: Series 1. Since then, Andrea has served as a co-director and artist of The Vigil Project, releasing nearly a dozen studio albums and touring to over 450 communities across 40 states and throughout Europe. The Vigil Project has impacted hundreds of organizations, with unique milestones like being among the first music selections on the Hallow App, building a music player experience for The Word Among Us, forming hundreds of Catholic musicians through retreats and workshops, and launching a first-ever online training platform for Catholic musicians. Andrea collaborated on The Vigil Project’s upcoming film series, Meaning of Music, that unpacks the gift of music in the life of faith, due to release mid-2025. The Vigil Project was featured on the main arena stage of the National Eucharistic Congress, and has served events large and small across the country to lead people into a deeper relationship with Jesus through music. Beyond her faith, Andrea’s family is the highest priority to her. She brags about being one of sixty-one first cousins on her mom’s side alone, and while she pledged not to become “that aunt”, she has inevitably (and proudly) become the stereotype. She also serves as one of The Vigil Project’s resident “foodies”, and can often be found with a heating pad wherever she is.
